Vicki Preston, owner-editor of the magazine “Paros Life & Naxos Life”, first came to Greece in 1981 from her native England. Living in Athens, she worked as an IT consultant for the multinational electronics company Hewlett-Packard until 1992 when she moved to Paros. During the summer season, her small printshop “Chrysalis Print & Design” in Marpissa created advertising and publicity material for local businesses in the tourism sector, and in winter she continued to take on consulting assignments for HP, giving her the chance to live for some months in Moscow, Prague and Geneva and to travel throughout Europe and the former Eastern Bloc countries.

In March 1998 she founded the English-language magazine “Paros Life” (formerly “The Foreigner”) for the international residents of Paros and Antiparos, adding Naxos Life in 2005 to include information for residents of Naxos, Amorgos and the Minor Cyclades.  The magazine stopped printing in 2013 after 15 continuous years of publication but continued to have an active web presence in social media.

Vicki is a singer and songwriter and her CD “Perfect Timing” was recorded in Toronto, Canada in 2005.  That year she also became a first-time mum and for the past few years has been working as a volunteer setting up and expanding the programme of the only Montessori school in the Cyclades – the bilingual English & Greek “Linguakids Montessori” in Naoussa, Paros.  She is delighted to be on the Innovaros team and welcomes the opportunity to share the beauty, culture, traditions and myriad activities and events on offer from Paros’s cosmopolitan community with a wider audience.  She considers it a privilege to be involved in the Innovaros initiative for the sustainable development of Paros, an island which she and many others know to be an extraordinarily special place.

We would love to have your feedback!
