My name is David Salihi and I am a classically trained pianist at Diploma of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (DipABRSM) standard, passed in London, December 2009.  I organised the successful Romantic Piano 3-day concerts in Lefkes and Paroikia with music by Chopin and Schumann in celebration of their bicentennial births.  The recitals were performed in August 2010 by my friends Samantha Ward and Maciej Raginia, both professional concert pianists currently based in London.

I originated from the North East of the UK and I am particularly proud of my home city of Durham with its famous University and Cathedral, which is now a UNESCO world heritage site.  I have lived and worked in London for over 30 years and I am very familiar with the major concert venues there, such as the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, the Wigmore Hall and the Royal Opera House.

After visiting Paros for a number of years, in February 2010 I made my home in Prodromos.  I was attracted by its unique blend of friendliness, cultural appreciation and scenery.  I am keen to promote the beautiful Island of Paros for classical music and I am hoping to develop contacts with residents and business people who share my love of music.  I believe the knowledge of classical music has considerable benefits to the educational development of young people and consequently adds to the quality of life of people living and working in Paros, visitors and Parians alike.

Since moving to Paros I have been impressed by the cooperation I have received from the Paros Municipal Company for Cultural Development (KDEPAP), local Parians and the business community and would like to develop and augment these contacts.

We would love to have your feedback!
